Orgin:
World Cup I is a first class dressage producer but this imposing stallion has also produced some very good showjumpers such as White
Vienna (E. Blaton). In 1997 he was the Hannovarian Stallion of the Year. Grande as the damsire was, and still is, one of the stamping stallions within the Hannovarian breeding. He is the sire of many international dressage (Galapagos and Grandison with G. Grillo) and jumping horses (Santa Cruz with W. Bettinger and Gratulant with G. Wiltfang). Artur (by Abglanz) is bred exactly the same as the famous Abhang I, II and III.

Welcome was born in 1987 and is bred out of very old and famous Hanoverian lines. Sired by World Cup I out of Grebina (by Grande x Artur), Welcome came in training with Isabell Werth at the age of three. Between 1995 and 1998, Werth and Welcome were multiple Grand Prix test winners throughout Europe. In 1999 the stallion was sold to the Dutch stallion station De Havikerwaard in De Steeg, The Netherlands, where he came under the care of Leida Strijk. A succession of riders competed with the stallion: Leida Strijk, Ebba von Essen, Coby van Baalen and Bart Veeze; under all of them, he stayed a consistent Grand Prix scorer.

A small impression:
Munster 1995 Winner Grand Prix Dressage
Amsterdam 1996 Winner Grand Prix Dressage World Cup
Brussels 1996 Winner Grand Prix Dressage
Berlin 1996 Winner Grand Prix Dressage
Vlotho-Exter 1997 Winner Grand Prix Dressage
Bremen 1997 Winner Grand Prix Dressage, Winner Kur on Music
Frankfurt 1997 Winner Kur on Music

Progeny:
Before April 1998 Welcome was not used for breeding. Since he has been standing at Dekstation de Havikerwaard many breeders have utilized him. The first crop of foals were born in 1999 and were rewarded with a super foal report. One of his first sons Sledgehammer (damsire Ladalco) was 3rd in the foal championships at Champion
Arnhem. His first offspring are meanwhile 4 years old and also under the saddle his progeny, without exception, express a lot of dressage ability. Tact, rhythm, formation and a good character are the keywords for his children. Additionally there was a son of Welcome (damsire Weltmeyer) sent through to the stallion selections in Den Bosch 2003.
